SolarWinds operates a website at www.solarwinds.com, through which it provides information on its various products, solutions, and office locations. The Company does not operate an online sales portal. It does, however, allow customers to download software on a free trial basis directly form the Company’s website. SolarWinds also operates an online customer portal, through which customers can access products, tools, and resources, and offers mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.

SolarWinds primarily makes sales to customers through its in-house direct sales force, which is organised by geographic region. The Company’s sales personnel operate out of its network of regional offices across the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, including regional headquarters in the US, Ireland, and Australia. Customers are able to contact the Company’s regional sales personnel over the phone or via email.

SolarWinds additionally makes a significant portion of its sales through a network of channel and distribution partners. This includes value added resellers, distributors, and independent software vendors.

Customer Relationships

SolarWinds does not sell its products and solutions to clients on a self-service basis. It does, however, allow customers to download software on a trial basis directly from its website, and operates an online customer portal, through which clients can access a range of products, tools, and resources without interacting with members of the Company’s sales and service personnel. The Company’s mobile apps can similarly be downloaded on a self-service basis.

SolarWinds makes the majority of its sales through its direct sales force. Searches of records published by the US Patent and Trademark Office identified a number of patent applications which SolarWinds is named as assignee, including applications entitled ‘Node de-duplication in a network monitoring system’, ‘Progressive charting of network traffic flow data’ and ‘Method for summarizing flow information of network devices’.

SolarWinds additionally owns and or leases a number of physical properties around the world that comprise its network of sales and administrative offices.
